Biography

Edward Vincent “Ed” Sullivan (September 28, 1901 – October 13, 1974) was a US entertainment writer and television host, best known as the presenter of the television variety programs The Toast of the Town and The Ed Sullivan Show. With both programs broadcast from 1948 to 1971 (at a total of 23 years), it was a record for long-running variety show in US broadcast history.
